George Floyd protests around Ohio: Some peaceful, some violent

Protests have been reported in several Ohio cities. While most of the protests have been peaceful, there are also several incidents of violence.

The city of Cleveland has imposed a curfew starting at 8p.m. Video posted on social media shows looting at multiple stores, and police cars on fire.

According to WOIO, protestors set two Cleveland Police cruisers on fire, vandalized the Justice Center with graphic graffiti, and threw objects at the Justice Center and police. Click here for updated coverage from WOIO.

In Columbus, the governor ordered the Ohio National Guard and state highway patrol to assist Columbus police, as there were clashes with protests during the day Saturday. Those clashes came after violence in the city on previous nights. Visit our news partner WBNS for updates through the night.

The city of Cincinnati also has a curfew in place after violence in Over-the-Rhine and other areas Friday night. Saturday afternoon, protest began again in Over-the-Rhine. No violence was reported. Our news partner WCPO has complete coverage of what is happening in Cincinnati.

Toledo police and protesters were clashing Saturday night, with tear gas dispersed.

There were multiple marches in Akron, with no reports of clashes with police. A photographer with the Akron Beacon Journal reported one man picked up a brick to throw, but a woman talked him out of it.
