BEAVERCREEK — An apartment building was heavily damaged by a fire this afternoon in the 4400 block of Love Lane.
Beavercreek crews responded at approximately 6:15 p.m. to the Fieldstone Luxury Apartments.
The fire was under control about 40 minutes after fire crews arrived on scene.
Traffic was restricted on Weber Drive as crews fought the flames on the second floor and attic of the building.
All the residents and pets got out OK and there were no reported injuries, said Randy Grogan, Beavercreek fire prevention specialist and investigator.
Grogan said the cause has not been determined. He said the fire damaged one second-floor apartment directly and the roof of the eight-unit building, adding that some water damage may have affected first-floor units.
“one resident was asleep in one of the primarily-affected apartments. He was awokened by the sound of smoke detectors and evacuated the structure,” Grogan said.
Fire officials and property management are working with some residents who may be displaced.
Resident Jennifer Fultz said she had just come home from work and laid down to take a nap when she heard banging on her door.
Fultz said she and her husband got out with their cat and dog.
