DAYTON — The driver who crashed into a utility pole Thursday afternoon, which temporarily shut down North Gettysburg Avenue, fled before police and emergency crews arrived.
The crash occurred at about 3:30 p.m. on North Gettysburg near Glenbrook Drive.
A Chevy Malibu knocked over the pole, which fell onto the car and knocked out power to a street light.
Police said the driver apparently fled and it is not known whether that person was injured.
A Dayton fire crew responded and put out flames.
