Stabbing victim found at I-75 rest stop in Butler County; Suspect arrested in Allen County

BUTLER COUNTY — A stabbing victim was found at a Butler County rest stop along I-75 and the suspect was later taken into custody nearly 100 miles north of where the incident happened, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

State troopers and medics were called to the northbound I-75 rest stop just before noon Tuesday on reports of a person stabbed. The victim was located in the parking lot an transported to Atrium Medical Center for treatment of non-life threatening injuries, a spokesperson said in a media release.

The suspect, who knows the victim, fled the scene before state troopers arrived. State troopers later located his vehicle, stopped it, and arrested the suspect while he was traveling north on I-75 in Allen County, nearly 100 miles away from the Butler County rest area.

The name of the suspect was not released.
