Reports: 1 in custody after search, pursuit of stolen box truck in Miami County

BETHEL TWP., Miami County — One person has been taken into custody after several jurisdictions chased and searched for a stolen box truck Friday morning, according to initial reports.

The truck was first reported as stolen from the Speedway on Miller Lane in Butler Twp. before 9 a.m.

Initial reports indicate deputies in Miami County spotted the truck in the area of National Road and state Route 202 around 9:20 a.m. and searched the area for the vehicle.

The search led deputies and state troopers to the area of state Route 571, near Pisgah Road in Bethel Twp. where the box truck was located and one person was taken into custody.

A medic was requested to the scene, however it was not known who was injured or how severe their injuries are.

Investigators on the scene did not released additional details about the status of the investigation.
