1 hospitalized after stabbing at Vandalia apartment complex

VANDALIA — UPDATE @ 8:15 a.m.:

One person suffered non-life threatening injuries and was taken to an area hospital after they were stabbed at a Vandalia apartment complex Friday morning, according to police.

Officers responded to Winding Hollow Trail just before 6 a.m. Friday on reports of a disorderly person, emergency scanner traffic indicated.

Police found a victim was stabbed after an assault at the unit and they were transported to the hospital for treatment, according to investigators.

Officers said the incident stemmed from a party and alcohol is believed to be a factor.

It is unknown if any arrests were made or if anyone is facing charges.

Additional details were not released and police said the incident remains under investigation.

Officers found one person suffering from a stab wound after they were called to a Vandalia apartment complex Friday morning, according to initial reports.

Police responded to Winding Hollow Trail just before 6 a.m. on reports of a disorderly person. When officers arrived on scene, two medics were requested, one for a person stabbed and another for a person injured in an assault, police scanner traffic indicates.

The conditions of those involved were not immediately known.
