While Davis-Lowery’s cause of death remains as pending, a coroner’s office investigator ruled there was no trauma on her body.

A deputy noted in the incident report that she might have suffered from possible head trauma. Those injuries were ruled out as trauma and were called just cuts and abrasions, the coroner’s office representative said.

According to the incident report, Davis-Lowery had been released from the Randolph County Jail eight days before her body was found. Detectives said they believed her body had been in the ditch for about 24 to 48 hours before it was discovered.

Davis-Lowery’s body was discovered by two people driving in the area looking at fall scenery.

We’ll continue to update this story with new details in the investigation as they become available.
