Man sentenced to life in prison for shooting death of Huber Heights man

DAYTON — A Dayton man has been sentenced 24 years-to-life in prison after being convicted of killing a Huber Heights man last May.

Anthony Gause, 33, killed Jayden Kilgore, 24, on May 29, 2020 in a shooting on Manhattan Avenue. He was convicted of murder and other felonies after a trial late last month.

Dayton police said as many as five people were involved in an argument before the shooting happened around 7 a.m.

Police blocked off about two blocks during their investigation while they gathered evidence.

Gause was indicted on two counts of Murder, two counts of Felonious Assault, one count of Discharge of a Firearm On or Near Prohibited Premises and one county of Tampering With Evidence in last June.

Gause will not be eligible for consideration of parole until he has served at least 24 years., according to Prosecuting Attorney Mat Heck, Jr.
