1 hospitalized, 1 detained after stabbing in Springfield; Police investigating

SPRINGFIELD — One person was taken to an area hospital and a second person has been detained by police after a stabbing in Springfield Friday morning, according to dispatch records.

Police and medics were dispatched to the 200 block of East Leffel Lane around 7:50 a.m. after the stabbing was reported.

The victim was stabbed multiple times and transported to Springfield Regional Medical Center for treatment, dispatch records indicate. Their condition was not immediately known.

One person who is believed to be the suspect has been located and detained by officers on the scene, dispatchers said.
