Why it was a nightmare day of traffic on I-75; thousands of drivers impacted

MIAMI VALLEY — If you were driving on I-75 in the Dayton area anytime before lunch Thursday, you were likely caught up in nightmare traffic.

Four separate crashes caused miles of backups in both directions of I-75 due to interstate shut downs.  Luckily, no person was seriously injured in any of them.

FIRST CRASH:

8 a.m.: Childcare bus crashed in to wall on I-75 south near Stanley Ave 

SECOND CRASH:

9:40 a.m.: Two semi trucks collided on I-75 south in West Carrollton, causing lengthy shutdown 

THIRD CRASH:

10:15 a.m.: More cars collide directly across from semi crash on I-75 north lanes

FOURTH CRASH:

11:32 a.m.: Four cars collide, causing shutdown of I-75 North near Austin Boulevard, I-675
