Warrant issued for teen in connection to fatal shooting

Police are searching for a Dayton teenager in connection to a murder, and he’s considered armed and dangerous, officials said Thursday.

The Montgomery County Juvenile Court issued a warrant for for 17-year-old Keith Patrick Reid, Jr.

He is wanted for delinquency murder and felonious assault in connection to the Sept. 30 shooting death of Davion McGhee at the Summit Square Apartment Complex.

Reid’s last known address is on Cambridge Avenue in Dayton.

The teen is wanted for the murder of Davion McGhee, 20, of Huber Heights at Summit Square Apartments.

Police and medics were called shortly before 7:30 the night of the shooting to a report of a shooting at the complex off Hoover Avenue.

Shortly after the shots were fired, a 911 caller told dispatchers she heard gunshots and saw a man on the ground at the Summit Square Apartments.

The woman, who told the dispatcher she did not want to give her name and get involved, said she did not see the man who was shot nor the shooter. She said she only heard three rapid shots: “Pop, pop, pop.”

McGhee was shot twice and rushed to Miami Valley Hospital, where he subsequently died after undergoing emergency surgery, officials said.
