PIQUA — Troopers seized 500 grams of suspected cocaine after they stopped a Cincinnati driver last month on Interstate 75 in Miami County.
The driver, 27-year-old Orlando L. Jackson, was stopped in a rented 2019 Hyundai Elantra with Georgia plates around 2 p.m. Nov. 21 for marked lanes and turn signal violations on I-75, according to a release from the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
Troopers said they noticed criminal indicators, and patrol K-9 gave an alert to the car. The suspected drugs, which have a street value of approximately $17,700, were seized following a search.
Jackson was booked into the Miami County Jail on suspicion of possession and trafficking in suspected cocaine and possession of criminal tools.
If convicted as charged, he could face up to 23 years in prison and up to a $42,500 fine, the patrol said.
