Sidney man accused of not paying workers in Piqua pleads not guilty

TROY — A Sidney man accused of hiring people to work on his properties in Piqua but then filing to pay them pleaded not guilty to seven felony theft indictments Tuesday in Miami County Common Pleas Court.

Duaine Liette, 58, was accused regarding alleged offenses in February, June and July of 2017 and in June 2015.

Judge Christopher Gee approved Liette's release on a recognizance bond with an order to have no contact with the seven alleged victims.

A pretrial hearing was scheduled for Sept. 17.
