YELLOW SPRINGS — A recent lockdown at a college and nature preserve was spurred by a false report of a gunman in the area.
Antioch College officials said today the hours-long lockdown June 27 was spurred by a false report of a gunman that had been made by a Glen Helen employee who admitted the making the false claim.
The initial report was that a man in camouflage had a handgun near the Outdoor Education Center. Greene County Sheriff’s Deputies searched a four-mile radius for several hours but found no gunman.
