MIDDLETOWN — UPDATE @ 12 p.m Monday, March 11:
The deceased man found dead Sunday in the drainage reservoir has been identified as a Steven Baker, according to Middletown police officials.
Baker had been missing since Jan. 3.
Middletown police are still investigating the death and are waiting on the coroner’s report to rule out any foul play, but at this time the death does not appear to be suspicious.
UPDATE @11 a.m. Monday, March 11:
An autopsy is being performed today by the Butler County Coroner’s Office to determine the identification and cause of death for a man found Sunday in a drainage reservoir in Middletown, according to Middletown Police Maj. David Birk.
Additional information is expected to be released later today.
INITIAL REPORT @ 5:30 p.m. Sunday, March 10:
Middletown police are on the scene now of a man found dead near Carmody Boulevard.
Someone called police about 60 minutes ago about a body in a pond where Carmody dead ends in to Ohio 73, according to Middletown Maj. David Birk. Officers went to the scene and the man’s body was pulled out of the water.
Officers are waiting on the arrival of the Butler County Coroner’s Office.
