Young-Patrick was found with blood on her shirt and arm, according to a Dayton Police Department incident report.

She told police the blood was her 20-year-old son's.

A meat tenderizer was found near Young-Patrick at the scene. She told investigators her son was "mouthing off" to her and when an argument escalated, she felt threatened and hit him with the kitchen utensil.

Her son refused medical treatment but police said he had injuries to his forehead and a cut on his nose. He didn't want to press charges but Young-Patrick was taken to Montgomery County Jail.
