Man stabbed in the back during argument with girlfriend in Dayton, police say

UPDATE @ 1:45 a.m.:

The stabbing was the result of a domestic incident between man and his girlfriend, police said.

The couple was arguing, and as the man started to leave, the woman stabbed him in the back, officers said.

The man suffered non life-threatening injuries, and was taken to Miami Valley Hospital, police said.

Andrea Nicholle Shaver, 31, of Riverside, was arrested by Dayton police and booked into the Montgomery County Jail on suspicion of aggravated assault.

FIRST REPORT:

Police and medics were called early Wednesday to a report of a stabbing in Dayton.

The incident was reported around 1 a.m. in the 4100 block of East Fourth Street in Dayton.

However, following the attack the stabbing victim went to Riverside, where crews took him to Miami Valley Hospital for treatment. His condition was not immediately available.

We are hearing reports that Dayton police may have a suspect in custody.
