Police said an ongoing dispute between families resulted in one person shot in Miami Twp. Monday night.

Officers responded to the 6700 block of Farmington Road around 10:30 p.m. on reports of shots fired in the area with one person possibly shot.

Miami Township Police Sgt. Mike Siney said one person was found with a gunshot wound to the arm and was taken to a local hospital for treatment. The victim was treated and released according to Siney.

The incident stemmed from an earlier verbal altercation between two families in the area that have had ongoing issues according to Siney.

Siney would not confirm if officers arrested the suspected shooter, but said one person was taken into custody on charges unrelated to the shooting.

A search warrant was planned to be executed at the house this morning.
