Officials waiting on autopsy results in woman’s death

UPDATE @10:30 a.m. 11/23/2015:

The Clark County Sheriff’s Office is awaiting autopsy results for Spring E. Boyd, 39, who was found dead at the bottom of a staircase in her Mad River Twp. home last Thursday.

An initial cause of death has not been determined after an autopsy was conducted by the Montgomery County Coroner’s Office Friday, said Major Russell Garman with the sheriff’s office. Investigators are waiting on test results, including toxicology reports which could take several weeks.

UPDATE @ 4:33 p.m. 11/19/2015:

The victim in a death investigation in Mad River Twp. has been identified as Spring E. Boyd, 39, who found was dead after 1 a.m. today at 6920 Tall Timber Trail, said Major Russell Garman of Clark County Sheriff’s Office.

The woman was found at the bottom of a set of stairs. The death did not appear natural and detectives were requested to the scene, according to a press release.

The woman’s husband was released after questioning, but the investigation is ongoing.

The cause and manner of death is also still under investigation. An autopsy is scheduled for Friday at the Montgomery County Coroner’s Office.

UPDATE @ 12:34 p.m.:

The Clark County Sheriff’s office confirmed a 39-year-old woman who lives in the home was found dead when medics arrived.

Investigators have questioned the woman’s husband, who they said came home to find the woman dead.

Medics and deputies arrived on scene shortly after the husband called 9-1-1, and medics declared the woman dead at the scene.

Detectives, the Clark County Prosecutor’s Office and BCI are still investigating and going over the husband’s version of events of what took place before the woman was found dead, said Maj. Russell Garman with the Clark County Sheriff’s Office.

The husband has been released after questioning, and no charges have been filed in the case as detectives continue their work.

The home where a death investigation is underway is located in Mad River Twp. near Enon.

UPDATE @ 10:46 a.m.:

The sheriffs office, the coroner, the Clark County Prosecutor and the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation crime scene unit has all been on the scene of a person found dead in an Enon home.

The sheriffs office has not confirmed who was found dead but neighbors said it was a woman who lives there.

INITIAL REPORT:

A death investigation is underway in Clark County.

Crime scene tape is up around a house on Tall Timber Trail in Enon and authorities said there is a body inside.

Initial reports indicated medics responded to the address this morning on the report of a woman who fell down the stairs and was not breathing.
