GRAND LAKE ST. MARYS STATE PARK — The Ohio Department of Natural Resources is investigating after a car crashed into the Grand Lake St. Marys off of Windy Point Drive at around 8 p.m. on Saturday.

The Montezuma Fire Department confirmed that the vehicle lost control on a curve and drove over the shore rocks into the lake.

There were no injuries in the crash.

In the 9-1-1 call reporting the incident, the caller describes the car, which he says is a small sedan, driving quickly off the road into the water before coming to a stop, facing back toward the road, a short distance into the reservoir.

The caller also reported that the woman in the car seemed intoxicated, and said that she was getting agitated. At one point in the call the dispatcher asks if someone yelling in the background is the woman, and the caller says it is.

It is unclear whether any arrests were made due to this crash, and we are working to learn more.
