New Carlisle man struck by car on I-70 in Huber Heights has died

HUBER HEIGHTS — A New Carlisle man who was struck by a car on Interstate 70 in Huber Heights on Friday night has died, officials confirmed Wednesday morning.

John D. Williams, 42,  was transported to Miami Valley Hospital, where he died Tuesday, a spokeswoman said. The Montgomery County Coroner’s office confirmed that they have his body.

Williams was struck while picking up a piece of plastic on the I-70 west exit ramp to Ohio 202 just after 10 p.m. He was wearing dark clothing and bending down when he was struck by a car that was exiting the highway, Huber Heights police said.

A witness was performing CPR on Williams when officers arrived, and medics described Williams’ injuries as “extremely severe.”

The driver of the car who hit Williams is not expected to face charges, since Williams is believed to be at fault, according to a police report.
