DAYTON — An arrest warrant has been issued for a 52-year-old motorcyclist in connection to a hit-and-run crash that killed his passenger after she was ejected.
Robert Alden Butt of Harrison Twp. is scheduled to be arraigned Aug. 27 for vehicular manslaughter and failure to stop after an accident, according to a Montgomery County grand jury report released Monday.
Butt is suspected of driving under the influence of drugs and alcohol when he crashed his motorcycle around 2:35 a.m. May 20, 2018, according to a Dayton Police Department crash report.
Butt was headed east on Needmore Road when near Wagner Ford Road he lost control, struck the median and then went off the right side of the road and crashed with a cement block wall, the report stated.
Butt’s motorcycle then continued and struck a speed limit sign and small tree. Butt apparently suffered no injuries and fled the crash scene, according to the crash report.
His passenger, 49-year-old Lynn Fry-Goss of Dayton, was ejected. She was taken by ambulance to Miami Valley Hospital, where she was pronounced dead a short time later.
