Indictment: Driver accused of OVI in crash that also injures his passenger

JEFFERSON TWP. — An arrest warrant has been issued for a 37-year-old Butler Twp. man accused of driving drunk during a May crash that sent him and his passenger to the hospital.

Tavahris O. Jones, aka “Fatty,” is charged with two counts of aggravated vehicular assault; two counts of vehicular assault, both felonies; and two counts of OVI, according to a Montgomery County grand jury report released Monday.

He is scheduled to be arraigned March 26, or sooner once he's in custody.

Jones was driving a silver 2007 Mercury Milan east on Huffman Road late May 5, 2018, near South Lutheran Church Road in Jefferson Twp. when he went off the roadway at a curve and struck a tree, according to a traffic crash report.

Jones and his passenger, 42-year-old Latichia Harrison of Trotwood, were taken to Miami Valley Hospital for treatment of injuries considered serious, according to the report.
