Highway Patrol pursuit ends after suspect vehicle is damaged

DAYTON — Dayton Police and Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers are in the area of U.S. 35 and James H. McGee Boulevard after a pursuit that started at 3:10 a.m.

According to OSHP dispatch records, a trooper attempted to pull the vehicle over for high speeds, but it didn’t stop.

The trooper followed the vehicle until it attempted to exit U.S. 35 at James H. McGee Boulevard, turned too quickly, and struck something, records said.

Our crew on the scene reported that there was a vehicle stopped on James H. McGee Boulevard with the front driver’s side wheel turned sideways.

Our photographer also said that there were several crews in the area of nearby Parker Avenue and Home Avenue, including a K9 unit.
