GREENVILLE — The Miami Valley Regional Crime Laboratory recently tested heroin that was laced with a powerful pain medication as part of a Greenville police investigation.
The heroin was laced with fentanyl, which has been linked to deaths across the U.S., according to a release from Greenville police.
Fentanyl is given to people who are end-stage cancer patients to help with pain management.
Police said it's the first time such a concoction has been confiscated in Greenville, although it has shown up in investigations by the Darke County Sheriff's Office.
