A dog is in quarantine after police say it attacked an eight-year-old girl.

The child had been at her grandmother’s home on Reisinger Avenue, when she and her older cousin were chased by the dog near the intersection of Reisinger Avenue and North Kilmer Street.

The child told police when she was running from the dog, she tripped and fell and the dog then bit her in the back. Police said the girl had scrapes on her knee and palm from the fall, and broken skin on the right side of her back from the dog bite.
