Deputy issues urgent call for assistance in Harrison Twp.; gun found at scene

HARRISON TWP. — UPDATE @ 1:10 a.m. (Jan. 23):

A man was arrested Tuesday night following a domestic violence call that led a Montgomery County deputy to issue a “Signal 99” for an officer in need of assistance.

Online Montgomery County Jail records show that 34-year-old Jamal R. Ashley Sr. was arrested at 10:41 p.m. at 1847 Palisades Drive. He was booked into the jail on an outstanding warrant and is awaiting formal charges for domestic violence and having weapons while under disability for a prior conviction.

A Montgomery County deputy issued a “Signal 99” call for officer in need of assistance after he spotted a suspect with a gun.

Deputies were called at 9:05 p.m. to a domestic violence complaint in the 1800 block of Palisades Drive at the Northland Village Apartments, according to the Montgomery County Regional Dispatch Center.

One person was quickly taken into custody, and the “Signal 99” was canceled in less than two minutes.

According to scanner traffic, deputies found a gun at the scene.
