Illinois man, charged in 2017 Riverside fatal crash, in custody

RIVERSIDE — UPDATE @ 8:30 a.m. (March 1, 2018): 

A Bloomington, Illinois man facing charges in connection to a fatal crash in Riverside last October has been arrested.

David Olsen, 25, was booked into the Montgomery County Jail around 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, according to jail records.

Olsen was indicted on charges of aggravated vehicular homicide, aggravated vehicular assault, vehicular assault, OVI and improper handling of a firearm in a vehicle, according to an indictment last week.

The crash on Ohio 4 near Harshman Road in October 2017 killed Alysha Lewis, 30, of Dayton.

Olsen is scheduled to be arraigned in court next week.

A Bloomington, Illinois man was indicted Thursday in a crash that killed Alysha Lewis, 30, of Dayton, last October.

David Olsen, 25, is facing aggravated vehicular homicide charges as well as charges for aggravated vehicular assault, vehicular assault, OVI and improper handling of a firearm in a vehicle, according to an indictment.

A warrant was issued for Olsen’s arrest and his is due in court for arraignment on March 8.

A woman killed in a crash late Saturday night in Riverside has been identified.

Alysha Lewis, 30, of Dayton, was killed in a crash on Ohio 4 just south of Harshman Road.

UPDATE @ 11:20 p.m. 10/14/17 

A fatal crash is under investigation tonight on Ohio 4 just south of Harshman Road in Riverside.

The Montgomery County Coroner’s Office said its investigators are on the way to the crash scene.

In the northbound lanes of state Route 4 there was a black pickup truck with damage.

A serious crash tonight is blocking a portion of Ohio 4 just south of Harshman Road.

A black pickup truck with signs of damage is on the scene, but little else is visible because police are keeping traffic back.
