2 charged in connection to man’s fatal stabbing

Two people have been arrested in connection to a fatal stabbing over the weekend in Fairborn.

The Greene County Prosecutor’s Office issued formal charges on Brandi J. Mercurio and Bailey J. Mercurio, both charged with aggravated burglary and trespass in a habitation when a person is present or likely to be present, both felonies.

The investigation continues and additional charges will be forthcoming.

Three people have been questioned by Fairborn police after a man was stabbed to death in a Fairborn residence. Police said the incident may be related to an earlier robbery at a nearby gas station.

Milton S. Lambros III, 38, of Fairborn, was found at 5:13 a.m. Friday with stab wounds at an apartment at 2221 Grierson Place. Fairborn police confirmed that Lambros died from his injuries, but that the cause of manner of death had not been released.

Two females and one male were detained, according to Fairborn police Sgt. Mark Stannard, who said everyone involved knew each other.

A 911 caller told a dispatcher that a person had “been stabbed and he is almost out of consciousness.” Police released edited versions of the 911 calls because they said investigative material was included.

Police said the two females were located inside the apartment and the male was located later. The residence, a duplex, where the stabbing occurred is not the victim’s home.

“The community should not have any fears at this point,” Stannard said. “Everyone involved is currently in custody or being detained and investigated.”

Stannard said the connection to a 2:13 a.m. robbery at Speedway at 1367 E. Dayton Yellow Springs Road is because “when (authorities) got to the stabbing, one vehicle matching the description of the robbery was found at that location.”

Initial reports indicate the robber did not display a weapon, but had something poking out of his jacket, possibly a weapon. A 911 caller said a suspect robbed the store and left with cash.

“It appears the two cases are related,” Stannard said. “To what extent, we’re still investigating. It’s early in the investigation.”

Lambros had criminal records in both Fairborn Municipal Court and Greene County Common Pleas Court.

Besides numerous traffic violations, Lambros had criminal cases involving aggravated robbery, assault, possession of drugs, possession of criminal tools, failure to comply with police, domestic violence, theft and receiving stolen property.
