BUTLER COUNTY — A 36-year-old Reily Twp. man was charged with cruelty to a companion animal after anonymous complaints came in about an emaciated dog, said Butler County Sheriff Richard K. Jones.
After Butler County Sheriff’s Office dog wardens responded to 6165 Main St. to discover the dog had no food or water and was covered in severe open wounds and obviously starved, David Neanover was charged, the sheriff said.
The dog was seized by the dog wardens and brought to the Butler County Humane Society, where an examination was done on the animal, according to a release from the sheriff’s office. The dog also has an ulcer on its tongue making it hard for the animal to eat or drink.
