Browns fan ordered into court

A Franklin man faces a misdemeanor charge in Baltimore, alleging he urinated on the grave of Art Modell, one-time owner of the Cleveland Browns.

Paul S. Serbu, 61, has been issued a summons to appear in court in Baltimore County, Maryland, on a charge of disorderly conduct in a cemetery.

Modell moved the team to Baltimore, upsetting Brown fans worldwide. He is buried in Pikesville Maryland.

Serbu was charged after police viewed a video of him apparently urinating on the grave on You Tube, according to police.

"Everyone who has buried a loved one has the right to believe that their final resting place will be treated with respect," the Baltimore County police department said in a press release. "Bringing charges against this individual should act as a deterrent to others and assure the rest of us that no matter who you are, indecencies will not be committed against your final resting place."

Serbu couldn't be reached Wednesday but his home and those of his neighbors were decorated in Browns regalia.

Neighbors described him as a wonderful family man and neighbor.

A summons was issued July 28, according to court records.

If convicted, Serbu faces up to two years in jail and a $500 fine.
