BEAVERCREEK — UPDATE @ 8:55 p.m.

The fire inside the Dick’s Sporting Good’s escalator has since been knocked down, emergency scanner traffic indicates.

INITIAL REPORT @ 8:34 p.m.

Crews are responding to a fire that has started inside an escalator at Dick’s Sporting Goods, reported around 8:15 p.m. at the Mall at Fairfield Commons in Beavercreek.

Initial reports indicate there is heavy black smoke coming from the escalator.
