Miami Valley health departments, pharmacies start vaccinating 12-15-year-olds

MIAMI VALLEY — As some Miami Valley health departments start vaccinating 12-15 year-olds, others are waiting on a Pfizer supply.

Public Health – Dayton and Montgomery County, Clark County Combined Health District, and Greene County Public Health have already started vaccinating the newest group to be eligible for the COVID-19 vaccine.

Meanwhile, Miami County Public Health is working to get Pfizer doses, the only shot approved for 12-15-year-olds. It has a clinic scheduled for May 22nd.

Darke County Health District doesn’t have Pfizer either. It is waiting to see how much interest there is in the shot, before it tries to get some doses.

CVS, Walgreens, and Rite Aid have all announced they are scheduling and vaccinating 12-15-year-olds.

Parents can also take their children to some pediatricians to get the COVID-19 vaccine.
