The Dayton City Commission has approved plans to give the Dayton Convention Center a facelift.

On Wednesday night, the commission approved a nearly $1.2 million contract with Butt Construction. They will do most of the façade repair and replacement work.

Plans also include a large $350,000 LED marquee that will post upcoming events and announcements.

In addition to the new paint and tiles, the convention center will also get a new rotunda entrance.
