The Eagles for Life group at Chaminade Julienne High School has won the 2015 High School Group of the Year Award from the nation’s largest pro-life youth organization, Students for Life of America.
The awards are given out every year in January to the most exceptional Students for Life groups in the country.
“With over 40 consistent members, the Eagles for Life group has been an incredible witness not only at their high school but also in their own communities of the pro-life message of love and compassion,” Kristan Hawkins, president of Students for Life of America, said in a release. “Their dedication to praying a weekly Rosary for Life and recruiting and retaining new members is outstanding.”
The Eagles for Life at Chaminade Julienne were recognized for excellence not only for their dedication to delivering the pro-life message in their school and community but also for hosting a Baby Bottle Drive where they raised more than $850 for their local pregnancy resource center.
The group also brought a bus load of students to the 2nd Annual Pro-Life Student Lobby Day hosted by Students for Life of America and Ohio Right to Life. Not only did they get to meet with their state representatives and observe a pro-life bill hearing, they brought hundreds of letters from other students to deliver to their representatives urging them to vote pro-life.
“We are so proud to recognize the Eagles for Life with this award and can’t wait to see what they have planned for this year,” Hawkins said.
