Woman taken to hospital after entrapment in rollover accident

UPDATE @ 9:44 a.m.

A woman was taken to a local hospital after an accident on Mason-Montgomery Rd. near W. North St. Sunday morning.

According to our crews on the scene, the driver rolled over after striking the guardrail and was trapped in the vehicle.

Crews cut the roof off the vehicle to free the driver. 

The victim was reportedly taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

Police originally responded to call of a tractor-trailer overturned, but the vehicle was not a tractor-trailer, despite initial reports. 

Both lanes of Mason-Montgomery Rd. had been closed but will reopen as crews remove the vehicle.

A tractor-trailer vehicle is reportedly on its side near Mason-Montgomery Rd. and W. North St. in Mason. 

Initial reports indicate that there is an extrication in process due to entrapment. 

Injuries are unknown.

UPDATE @ 9:40 p.m.:

A fatal shooting that took place Saturday afternoon is currently under investigation by Middletown Police.

Police dispatch were told that a gold KIA with a small spare tire on the vehicle and black primer bumpers on the front and back fled the area right after the shooting.

OTHER LOCAL NEWS: Electrocution fatality from contact with power lines in Hamilton

When police arrived they found Kapriece Fuller, 23, dead on the front porch from an apparent gunshot wound. 

A separate witness told police a gray Volkswagen Beetle occupied by three black males, who had reportedly been pointing guns at Fuller while he was at Douglass Park, was also involved. Police said that vehicle was using a small spare tire. 

Police are asking anyone who sees these vehicles to call 911 immediately. Anyone with information about the shooting is urged to contact Detective Brandon Highley at 513-425-7724. 

Maj. Scott Reeve declined to comment further on the ongoing investigation. 

OTHER LOCAL NEWS: Smoke was pouring from barn fire in Tipp City

Fuller appeared for a preliminary hearing in Middletown Municipal Court on May 18, and was bound over to a Butler County grand jury for further consideration of felony charges including assault, tampering with evidence and carrying a concealed weapon, along with two other misdemeanor charges.

According to online court records, Fuller had nearly three dozen prior offenses.

FIRST REPORT:

A man was fatally shot Saturday afternoon around 2:30 p.m. in the 1600 block of 16th Avenue.

This is the second homicide of the year, said Middletown Chief of Police Rodney Muterspaw.

The names of the victim and suspect are unknown until further investigation and contact with the victim’s family.

 

The investigation is ongoing.

A shooting that occurred late Saturday night near E. Rose Street and Clifton Avenue has been ruled as a homicide, the Springfield Police Department confirmed.

Units were dispatched to the scene at approximately 10:30 p.m. and found a male victim, reportedly in his 50s, dead in an alley on Clifton Ave. Police said the man was shot multiple times.

The victim’s identity has not been released.

No suspects have been named at this time. 

FIRST REPORT July 14 @11:08 p.m.:

A male in his 50’s was shot twice Saturday evening at E. Rose Street and Clifton Avenue.

Police crews were dispatched around 10:30 p.m., with detectives and crime scene investigators en route.

A statewide Endangered Missing Adult Alert has been issued for a 70-year-old man who left his residence on South Market Street at 8:50 p.m. Saturday and has failed to return.

Dennis Conner suffers from dementia, according to the Galion Police Department. He was last seen wearing a blue plaid shirt and blue pants with suspenders.

Conner is 5 feet 8, about 175 pounds, has gray hair and brown eyes.

A West Virginia youth was the two millionth rider on Mystic Timbers--a roller coaster at Kings Island Saturday afternoon, according to Kings Island Area Manager Don Helbig.

Braydan Dunkley, 8, of Poco, West Virginia, was accompanied by his mother, Danielle Dunkley.

He was awarded a souvenir piece of wood from the ride, a Mystic Timbers tote bag, front of the line passes, complimentary blue ice cream, and tickets to return to Kings Island in the fall to experience The Great Pumpkin Fest and Halloween Haunt.

Mystic Timbers was voted “Best New Ride” in 2017 by Amusement Today, and is a story-driven attraction themed to an abandoned lumber company and traverses 16 airtime hills through wooded terrain and over water along 3,265 feet of track at speeds up to 53 mph.
