Traffic changes coming to downtown Xenia

Downtown Xenia will be experiencing traffic changes within the next couple of weeks.

Xenia has installed new traffic lights at intersections that are going to make it safer for pedestrians and bicyclists.

New traffic signs are warning drivers about the big changes coming.

The signal at West and Main Streets will come down, and a new cross-walk will be created at Galloway and Main Streets.

“If you just set up a signal without any warning, you’re going to have problems. People won’t be used to it, you might have accidents,” said Xenia City Planner Brian Forschner.

City officials say Dayton Power & Light have some work to do before the changes will be made, but the new traffic lights should be working by the end of the month.
