DAYTON — Wright-Patterson Air Force Base officials announced Thursday morning an afternoon ceremony to mark the 100th anniversary of the former McCook Field was rescheduled to Friday because of inclement weather.
The event was rescheduled to 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Kettering Field Softball Complex, 444 N. Bend Road in Dayton.
The athletic fields are on the site of the former McCook Field, which was an Army aviation engineering and research center and a forerunner of Wright-Patterson.
Wright-Patterson spokesman Bryan Ripple said if inclement weather occurs Friday, the event could be rescheduled again.
A WHIO-TV forecast called for dry conditions during the ceremony’s scheduled time Friday.
