Central State University locker room fire ‘put out quickly,’ no injuries

A fire that originated in the Central State University gymnasium was ‘put out quickly’ by responding fire crews, Greene County Regional Dispatch confirmed.

Fire crews called for an evacuation of the entire building due to the heavy smoke and ventilation.

No injuries were reported.

Fire crews have called for the evacuation of the Central State University gymnasium due to a potential structure fire.

According to scanner reports, fire may have originated in the locker room of the gym at approximately 2:20 p.m.

The flames have reportedly been knocked down but heavy smoke still remains throughout the building.
