$120 million Austin West project would include restaurants, offices, hotels

The developer of Austin Landing gave an exclusive interview to News Center 7’s Adam Marshall, giving the latest details on a more than $120 million proposed development.

“We’re taking what is today a storm water retention pond and turning that into a water feature,” Larry Dillin, president of Dillin LLC said. “We will build a collection of restaurants overlooking the water. Then build hotels, offices and apartments around that, energizing the space,” he said.

At Interstate 75 and Austin Boulevard, there is more activity than what can be accommodated within the boundaries of the existing Austin Landing.

That’s why Dillin’s development team is in the planning stages with Miami Twp. for a project just across I-75 from Austin Boulevard, called Austin West.

“The township really came to us and we said, ‘if we were going to do it ... this is what we would do,’” Dillin said.

If they get the go-ahead, Dillin said Austin West would be completed in multiple phases.

He hopes to break ground next spring, with some of the project completed as early as spring of 2021.

Dillin said in terms of filling new office space, the key is looking south.

“What we want to do is focus on the office market in Cincinnati that is interested in moving north,” he said.
