“Ohio has so many amazing teachers who commit themselves each and every day to the success of our students," State Superintendent of Public Instruction Paolo DeMaria said in a prepared statement.

"I'm proud to recognize these teachers for their accomplishments and for the excellence they represent,” DeMaria said.

Teachers were nominated by school administrators, fellow educators, parents, students and community members.

An Ohio Teacher of the Year will be named after a panel of education and community stakeholders interview the State Board district awardees.

The state superintendent will announce the statewide honoree this fall. The Ohio Teacher of the Year will represent the state in the National Teacher of the Year selection in spring 2020.
