BEAVERCREEK — Beavercreek High School had a “soft lockdown” today as part of a scheduled drug sweep with Beavercreek police, said Paul Otten, Beavercreek superintendent.
He said the sweeps happen randomly throughout the school year using drug dogs, as a deterrent for students to bring illegal substances to school.
Otten said it also helps to reinforce to families the learning environment is safe for students.
Otten couldn’t tell as of Wednesday morning what if anything was confiscated from lockers.
