Officials Tuesday said a United States Air Force officer is accused of killing his 5-week-old son. Second Lt. David Valois, who is stationed at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, has been charged with murder.

Authorities said Valois has been held in confinement on the base since Oct. 3. Officials said Valois' son was taken to Children's Medical Center on Oct. 2, where he later died.

Investigators said an autopsy was performed and it was determined that the child died from blunt force trauma to the head.

Officials said Valois was a program manager at the base. They said he was charged with murder in connection with his son's death and was charged under the military justice system.
