According to investigators, two men fled the scene. The men were later found on State Route 201 and identified as Walter Elofskey, 28, of Dayton and Jimmy G. Andrade, 32, of Riverside.

Deputies said their investigation revealed that the men were involved in the theft and taken into custody. They are being held in the Miami County Jail.

The vehicle they were in turned out to be stolen from Riverside, deputies said. Methamphetamines found in the vehicle were also seized and taken to the crime lab for testing.

The sheriff’s office said similar complaints had been made of catalytic converters being stolen in the area.
