Just as one shouldn't leave children in the car by themselves, pet owners should not leave animals unattended in the car, especially in the summer. Dogs do not sweat like humans do and can suffer from heatstroke very quickly. While it may be tempting to take your dog along with you on errands, if they cannot come inside with you, it's best to leave Fido at home.
