SPRINGFIELD TWP. — UPDATE @ 9:55 p.m.: The driver of a car has been taken to a hospital after apparently striking a farm vehicle on Old Clifton Road, a state trooper’s supervisor said.
The car, identified as a Cadillac sedan, was headed south on Old Clifton near East Possum Road when it clipped the left front tire of the oncoming vehicle the trooper described as a spreader. The collision knocked the tire off the farm vehicle and sent the sedan off the roadway, where it ended up against a pole.
The driver of the car has been taken to Miami Valley Hospital. The person’s condition was not immediately available.
The spreader operator apparently was not injured.
A section of Old Clifton Road, south of Springfield, will remain closed at least three hours after a vehicle accident there Wednesday afternoon, the Ohio State Highway Patrol said.
The road is shut down between East Sparrow and East Possum roads.
The accident was reported sometime after 6 p.m.
