State patrol investigating fatal, single-vehicle accident in southern Ohio

PAINT TWP., Highland County — The Ohio State Highway Patrol is continuing to investigate a single-vehicle accident Tuesday morning that left a 36-year-old Greenfield man dead.

Curtis Ingles was killed when his GMC TOPKICK 6500 went off the left side of state Route 753 in the township just before 9:30 a.m., hit a fence and overturned, state patrol Wilmington Post officials said in a prepared statement Tuesday afternoon.

Ingles was headed north when the accident occurred. He died at the scene, according to the Highland County coroner.

Further investigation revealed Ingles was not wearing his seat belt at the time of the crash. Drugs and alcohol are not suspected to be factors in this crash.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol’s Reconstruction Unit is assisting in the investigation.
