UPDATE: Riverside gas station shooting suspect arrested in Indianapolis, police say

RIVERSIDE — UPDATE @ 9:55 a.m. (Oct. 29):

A man wanted in connected to a shooting at a Riverside gas station last week is now in police custody after he was located in Indianapolis, according to police.

Devion Lovett, 21, was arrested at a family member’s home in Indianapolis and was arrested. Riverside police said he remains in custody and is awaiting extradition.

Police identified Lovett as the suspect in a shooting at a Valley Street gas station Oct. 22.

Additional details were not released.

FIRST REPORT (Oct. 23):

Riverside police are asking for the public’s help in locating a man accused in a shooting at a gas station Thursday night.

Officers were called to the Sunoco gas station in the 2500 block of Valley Street around 6:30 p.m. after the shooting was reported.

Police are looking for Devion L. Lovett, 21, was identified as the suspect in the shooting. He is believed to be driving a 2016 blue Hyundai Elantra sedan with Ohio license plate HYB 9311, police said.

The condition of the victim was not released.

People with information that can help police in their investigation, or help locate Lovett, are asked to contact Riverside police at 937-233-1801.
