UPDATE: Vehicle strikes adult, 13-year-old in Dayton; Juvenile flown to Columbus

DAYTON — UPDATE @ 5:51 a.m.:

Emergency crews responded to a 25-year-old adult and 13-year-old child that were struck and pinned by a car early this morning on Catalpa Drive in Dayton.

According to police on the scene, Dayton fire crews were first to arrive to free the two victims from the car. The 25-year-old adult was transported to Miami Valley Hospital while the 13-year-old was transported to Dayton Children’s Hospital. However, medics have sent the 13-year-old via CareFlight to medical facilities in Columbus.

Both victims are currently in critical condition.

Police say they have arrested the driver of the vehicle and are looking into alcohol and drugs a being a possible factor in the crash.

INITIAL REPORT

One adult and one child were injured in a pedestrian crash that happened around 3 a.m. at the 2000 block of Catalpa Drive in Dayton.

According to Montgomery County Dispatchers, the crash happened around 3 a.m. Saturday morning and that the two people injured in the crash are 25-years-old and 13 years-old. Police on scene have called two medics to the scene.

The cause of the crash is not known at this time.
