— Grind House Coffee and Tea Company in Fairborn had a ribbon cutting at its grand opening in late April, but now, only three months later, the coffee shop has suddenly closed.
After days of being “temporarily closed,” Grind House posted to Facebook this afternoon that the Fairborn location will be closing for good, while a new Huber Heights location is in the works.
Exact reasons for the abrupt closure are still unknown, but we have left messages for Grind House’s president and CEO, Bill Miller Jr. We’ll update the story as we learn the latest details.
“I will be giving an official statement on the closing of our Fairborn location and the Grand Opening date of our HUBER HEIGHTS location tomorrow morning at 8am,” read a Facebook statement from Miller.
Grind House Coffee began as an online retailer only. The brand’s first physical retail shop opened this spring at 313 W. Main St. in Fairborn.
"As far as I can remember, everyone in my family has had a passion for coffee, From my Great Grandfather to my Daughter, the passion for coffee has spanned over 100 years,” according to the Grind House website.
Miller, who grew up in Dayton and who now lives in Franklin, founded Grind House Coffee & Tea in November 2015. The company’s roasting and packing facility is located in Fairfield.

PALM BEACH, Fla. — UPDATE, Dec. 25:
Luann de Lesseps, 52 and a star of “The Real Housewives of New York City,” will be released without bond from Palm Beach County Jail, a judge ruled Sunday.
De Lesseps slammed a door and kicked at least one police officer, said an assistant state’s attorney.
“I’m going to kill you all,” the state’s attorney said De Lesseps told people prior to her arrest.
De Lesseps, who has no prior offenses, will be allowed to go back to New York, Judge Ted Booras ruled.
Booras, acknowledging De Lesseps’ celebrity, said she should hire a criminal defense attorney from Palm Beach, Florida, instead of ignoring the charges.
“I don’t think it would be that hard to find you,” he said.
De Lesseps was advised by Booras not to incriminate herself and respond to him when he said she might have a drinking problem.

During her first appearance at Palm Beach County Jail on Sunday, Judge Ted Booras told de Lesseps to stop drinking because she might have a problem.
I want to offer my most sincere apologies to anyone that I might have offended with my behavior. This was my first time in Palm Beach since my wedding and being here brought up buried emotions. I am committed to a transformative and hopeful 2018— Luann de Lesseps (@CountessLuann) December 24, 2017

LOS ANGLES — Despite an ongoing debate among fans, Bruce Willis says “Die Hard” is not a Christmas movie.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Willis made the declaration at the end of “The Comedy Central Roast of Bruce Willis,” in which comedians and past co-stars -- and his ex-wife, Demi Moore -- joked about the 63-year-old. Dennis Rodman was also at the roast, but his jokes reportedly bombed.
“’Die Hard’ is not a Christmas movie!” Willis said to close the roast, Variety reported. “It’s a (expletive) Bruce Willis movie!”
THR reported that Willis replied “We’ll see,” when he was asked about how some fans may receive the declaration.
The 1988 action movie takes place on Christmas Eve, which has led many fans to claim the movie is a Christmas film. In 2017, one of the film’s screenwriters, Steven E. de Souza, appeared to suggest that “Die Hard” is a Christmas film. He responded in part on Twitter to a debate about the film with, “#DieHardIsAChristmasMovie.”
